Meet The Artist

 

Hi, I’m Emily Catherwood!

I started my professional career working on advertising campaigns in New York City. After many years working with creative professionals, I was inspired to explore my own artistic side.

I discovered my love for calligraphy while planning my wedding, using modern calligraphy to create personalized place cards, address our invitations, and add meaningful details to the invitation design.

After saying β€˜I do,’ I enrolled in the University of the Arts’ Graphic Design Certificate Program in Philadelphia, where I developed skills that continue to influence my artwork today. 

Over time, I was naturally drawn to watercolor with its flowing washes and vibrant hues. It is an escape for me in the busy world of raising young kids. 

After many years of calligraphy and watercolor practice, I’m excited to offer workshops and share what I’ve learned with the Greenville, SC community.

A few fun facts about me…

  1. I have lived in six different states and three countries.

  2. I was named after a storybook character.

  3. Disney World is my happy place.

I have two little ones, and they’ve taught me just how precious time really is.
To protect my mental health and prioritize my family, I’ve chosen to step away from social media.
